Treatment for your acne should be accompanied by a healthy skin care routine. - Start simple. You do not need expensive products to care for your skin. Often, gentle cleansers or soaps are sufficient to cleanse your skin regularly. - Start early. You cannot be too young to start minding your skin, but you can be too old and too late. Start pampering and protecting your skin so it can stay fresh as you age. - Use mild soap cleansers. Harsh cleansers contain chemicals that can dissolve your skin's natural protein and oil. Cleansing products should be as chemical-free as possible. Deodorant soaps shouldn't be used on your face. They cleanse with harsh ingredients and leave a detergent film behind. This may irritate your skin and will clog your pores. Go natural. - Use warm water. Water that is too hot can dehydrate your skin, making it more prone to damage. Too hot can scald or even burn your skin. Too cold water can actually dry your skin. - Moisturize it. Moisturizers help prevent water loss by either drawing moisture to the outer layer of the skin, or coating the skin's surface with a layer of substance, sealing moisture into the skin. For an intensive moisture treatment use pure vitamin E, or Aloe Vera oil. This is available in liquid form. Alternatively just break open a capsule and apply the oil directly to the skin. This is a great under-eye treatment. Remember it is very important to moisturize this sensitive area of the face. It is one of the first places to show age because the under-eye skin secretes none of the necessary oils on its own. - If you do get acne, you can use the follow below to reduce the appearance of the acne: - Wash the affected area twice a day with mild soap. Use soap such as Dove, or one that contains benzoyl peroxide, such as Oxy-5. Wash as often necessary to keep the area clean. Do not scrub. - Keep long hair off the face and shoulders and wash it daily. - Avoid shaving as much as possible; while shaving takes care to avoid nicking the pimples. - Use a fresh shaving blade to minimize the chance of spreading the infection. - Avoid use of make-up or cosmetics in areas prone to acne. If you have to wear make-up, use only the hypoallergenic or fragrance free kind. - Don't pop, pick, scratch, or squeeze your pimples. This may cause infection and scarring. - You may use an over-the-counter treatment that contain substances such as benzoyl peroxide (gel or cream) or salicyclic acid. Start with the lowest strength and apply once a day about half an hour after washing. Never use more than 5 percent strength without consulting a physician. Food and Nutrition Recommendations for Acne: Some doctors believe that acne is not a food related problem. Some alternate practitioners use diet as a basis for their treatment of acne. They recommend that acne patients should eat foods high in beta-carotene, such as carrots, pumpkin, cantaloupe and other yellow-orange fruits and vegetables. They should also avoid fatty foods. Acuzine controls the oil secretion in your body to protect your skin from getting acne prone.
