Private Jets : Salient Features

Safety
When you fly Charter, you travel by a private jet aircraft with the passengers of your choice, known to you. Your luggage and personal belongings are with you, and not in any cargo hold with hundreds of other pieces of baggage. The flight attendants are as well trained as the ones on commercial airlines, but they serve you and your friends only - personal service. The pilots are well trained too, and fly only private jets; their safety record is excellent, and certified by the aviation authority.

Speed
Private Charter aircrafts are of three types: (i) Piston, (ii) Turboprop and (iii) Jet. The first type is the smallest, and can travel between 200 and 250 kms per hour. A turboprop aircraft can travel between 400 and 450 km per hour. These planes are capable of taking off and landing in short landing strips carrying heavy loads. These aircrafts are suitable for flights up to 3 or hours. A jet aircraft can travel between 600 and 650 kms per hour and ideal for longer, nationwide trips. Executive Jets which can travel over Mach.1 (Mach numbers are used to indicate the speed of sound) are also available for chartered flights.

Capacity
The number of seats available on Private Jets varies from one aircraft to another. The aircrafts are categorized as Light, Mid-size and Large. Seating capacity varies from 2 to 6 passengers on the light, and 6 to 10 passengers on the mid-size and up to 25 passengers on the large aircrafts. Executive Private Jets with seating capacity up to 100 passengers are also available for charter for larger groups. The seating capacity can also depend upon the interior design of the aircrafts. Aircrafts with the interior designed like office rooms or even like living rooms are available for charter. In short, there are aircrafts available to fit the size and style of your groups.

The Cost
Typically, the cost of chartering an aircraft is quoted by the hour for the actual time that the aircraft is in operation. This depends on the operational costs of the type of aircraft you choose. Piston engined aircrafts with seating capacity up to 4 people would cost anywhere between $300 and $400 per hour, turboprops range from $700 to $1000 per hour and a business jet will set you back by anywhere between $1,500 and $5,000 per hour. Extras like waiting time, overnight halt and airport fees if any are charged to your account.
