"Fire Your Boss!" "Live The Lifestyle of Your Dreams!" "Spend More Time with Your Family!" "Buy a New House and a New Car!" If you joined a Multilevel Marketing (MLM) program for these reasons, then you joined for the right reasons. However, most people join MLM with one major flaw in their thinking. In fact, it is such a drastic flaw that they are doomed to failure. Let me tell you a little story. When I first started with MLM, I was motivated by the sincere desire to support my family. To make tons of money and to live the life of my dreams. MLM seemed like the best way to do this (and I still think that it is). Basically, I thought that with very little work, I would attract a few people to my downline, then after a few months of sitting on the couch I'd be rolling in the dough. I figured that the people below me would do all the work, attracting new recruits, and then those new recruits would attract more recruits, ad infinitum. The problem was that everyone else in my downline was thinking the exact same way that I was, so no one was actually doing any work, and my downline wasn't going anywhere. In fact, I think most of the people in my upline were doing the exact same thing. Needless to say, I spent lots of money on that program, got very little return, and eventually quit. But I didn't stop believing in the concept of MLM, and I started to read ebooks and learn from articles. Eventually, I began to realize that I was doing it all wrong. I realized the fatal flaw in my thinking. Here is what I realized: you cannot do MLM with the goal of MAKING MONEY, you must have the goal of HELPING PEOPLE. You might be thinking to yourself, "Okay, this guy is crazy because of course your doing MLM for the money, otherwise you wouldn't be doing it at all!" And you would be right. I'm not saying that your eventual goal isn't to make money, I'm just saying that your mindset should be shifted so that your actions and thoughts are focused on helping people. In an MLM world, by helping people become successful, you become successful. So here are the thoughts you SHOULD be thinking. You should think these thoughts every day. When you wake up in the morning. When you're not busy at work. Every second you should be testing your limits and coming up with creative solutions to these three questions: 1. How can I find new people to join my downline? 2. How can I train and motivate these people to think and act the same way I do? 3. How can I improve myself to become a better teacher and motivator? By constantly problem solving these three questions, you will not only build a team, but you will train a team to effectively grow. The more mental effort you put into making your team members successful, the more successful you will be. So now is the time to make that change. Stop thinking about MAKING MONEY and start thinking about HELPING PEOPLE. In the world of MLM, the more people you help, the richer you become.
