Ceramic plates and coils produce a moist heat unlike metal plates and coils. This moist head is humid and is much less damaging that traditional hair irons that can burn and damage hair by drying it out over time. Furthermore, ceramic plates and coils are much better distributors of heat and provide consistent heat throughout the dimensions of the plates, unlike metal plated irons that can have hot and cold spots (another condition that can contribute to damaged hair and inefficient straightening.
