Does Acne Cause Psychic Trauma

Acne is a mild to severe skin problem that is due to secretion of oil and dead skin cells, which clogs up the pores. It has many names such as pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads. Milder form of acne is one where few red spots or pimples occur. Whereas in severe cases big, red painful pimples cover the face, neck, and the back.

Mostly it begins in teen years and the reason stated is due to hormonal change during puberty, which makes the skin oilier. Acne may also be due to heredity and never caused due to eating chocolates and oily foods. These will worsen the existing condition and never be the cause.

To keep a control on acne and its scars regular skin-cleaning regime is necessary. Washing the skin/ face once or twice with a gentle soap is necessary. The acne cream will be useful for milder symptoms of acne. Benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, acne gel or cream, antibiotic pills and Isotretinoin can work very well on acne. However, these might cause side effects like depression, birth defects, or high cholesterol. Pregnant women should avoid these medications, as it will lead to birth defects in the fetus. Taking collagen treatment is effective in the scar removal. Collagen works on the pitted scar by plumping up the skin.
