Once in college you are required to buy your own text books for lessons/lectures as well as all pads and other writing implements. Book can cost a lot, however if you follow these simple rules you can cut that cost down by a drastic amount! If you have a college student who needs to get their hands on a bunch of college text books, remember that you don't have to spend the big bucks on new ones. Used text books can be found at any used bookstore. My favorite used bookstore is Half-Priced Books. They have an impressive selection of magazines, compact discs, records, and books. This wide selection also includes an endless supply of used books. You can find a book that is originally priced at $100 close to $10. Many times you will find used books for even less. A great way to get your hands on these books is to search online for used ones. Amazon.com is a great resource when looking for used books. I know lots of students who save hundreds of dollars every semester by buying their books off of the Internet. If you are already living in a college town you may be able to find classified ads or public postings offering extremely discounted books. Whatever you do, look around before you go to the stores on campus and spend a boatload on new books. Many students will try to unload their college text books after their classes are over by selling them super cheap. Look for postings and ads at the student union on your campus or other buildings where student information is readily available. I guarantee that on any given day there will be one or two offering cheap books. Cutting costs this way will save you hundreds every semester and every student and parent of a college student knows how expensive it is to go to school these days. A few hundred dollars here and there can really add up over the course of your college experience. I live in a college town and I see college text books at garage sales and yard sales all the time. My town is very over-saturated with students so there is a huge supply of text books for sale. I have never paid full price for my text books because I spent a little time hunting around for great bargains. Your college text books do not have to cost you an arm and leg. If you want to save a little bit of money for your other expenses, look around and you will find used college text books for all of your courses.
