Things like alcohol, smoke, drugs, and caffeine (at least limiting caffeine). More uncommon environmental hazards to watch out for include lead, mercury, and pesticides. The first trimester is the most critical time for the formation of your baby. If you're not sure what things pose a danger to your baby, it's a great idea to talk to your doctor or midwife. As well, taking a folic acid supplement is very important for your baby's development.
