Who is Andy Warhol? That name may be very familiar to you. Many of us know who he is but even those that don't know exactly what he did, they do know the name. Andy Warhol was a very popular commercial illustrator. He was an artist that has become a household name for many. Born in 1928 and died in 1987, Warhol was a US artist as well as a motion picture producer. He had great unique pop art designs that were made of soup cans, Brillo boxes, and silk-screen reproductions. He has a famous painting, One Hundred Cans from 1962 and a very famous motion picture, The Chelsea Girls. Andy Warhol was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to New York City in the 1950s. He studied at Carnegie Institute of Technology. There are many books dedicated to this amazing artist that spoke to people in a new way.
